South Haven’s ‘Light up the Lake’ Fireworks, July 3, 10:30 p.m.

The evening before Independence Day, South Haven holds a spectacular display of fireworks over Lake Michgan.

Starting at 10:30 p.m. on July 3, the fireworks are expected to last for about a half hour.

The harbor will be full of boat traffic on its way to anchor out in Lake Michigan for the best view.

The event is expected to cost $34,000.  Light Up the Lake Fireworks is funded entirely by donors from the community.

Fueling of floating marine craft with gasoline or diesel at other than a marine motor-fuel dispensing facility is prohibited under the International Fire Prevention Code, except as approved by the South Haven Area Emergency Services Fire Marshall.  Contact the Fire Marshall at 269-637-5151 for any questions regarding fueling in South Haven Harbor.

2015 Queen’s Cup - Sailboat Race Across Lake Michigan, Milwaukee to South Haven

South Haven Municipal Marina welcomes the 2015 Queen's Cup yachting race to South Side Marina on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27.  This is the 77th annual Queen's Cup event.

2015 South Haven Harbor Soundings

2015 Harbor Soundings from the Army Corps of Engineers are now available for South Haven Channel and the South Haven Harbor.

The numbers indicate the bottom depth below Low Water Datum (IGLD 1985), which is at 577.5.

In order to estimate actual depth, go to the Lake Michigan/Huron Monthly Water Levels page.

The left column shows feet above or below the Low Water Datum.  Find the current month level and add or subtract it to the number on the soundings

The South Haven Steelheaders Pro-Am Fishing Tournament enjoyed some excellent weather and great times were had by all. Click here for competition results. There were a total of 726 fish caught, weighing in at 4,633.8 pounds.
