The Dyckman Avenue Drawbridge opens for masted traffic every half hour, as needed, from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week in the summer.
The South Haven Yacht Club is located just upriver from the Southside Transient Marina and features a refueling station. For super yachts or other large vessels needing more than 1000 gallons, call ahead at (269) 637-2305 24-48hrs to allow for special arrangements to be made. You can also inquire about becoming a member, so you can enjoy the fantastic harborside dining available only to members and their guests.
The South Haven Steelheader's mission, as a chapter of the Michigan Steelhead and Salmon Fishermen’s Association (MSSFA), is to take part in “educating the general public on improving, preserving and promoting sport fishing in the Great Lakes and their tributary streams and rivers.” They also play host to the Steelheader's Pro/Am, a fishing tournament to kick-off the summer.
On the coastline, just south of South Haven, lies the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant. Please be advised to observe the Exclusion Zone for boaters, marked by buoys along the shore.
